World History Encyclopedia is always looking for expert volunteer writers to help expand its content which covers global cultures from antiquity up to the modern era. We are interested in articles between 1,500 and 3,000 words in length that are aimed at general readers. They should be unbiased (as much as possible), accurate to academic standards, and a pleasure to read. The texts we publish define key people, places, and events in history or cover specific aspects of a past culture such as art, warfare, daily life, and many other topics. 

Historical researchers and archaeologists, we would love to share your knowledge with the general public to increase public interest in your work and the study of history in general. The encyclopedia is used by millions of general readers, teachers, and students each month, and we can guarantee authors a high exposure for their work. 

Unlike popular Wiki-based websites, all contributions to our encyclopedia are thoroughly reviewed by our editorial team prior to publication, as we only publish rigorously researched and referenced articles. This is why we are an internationally well-respected publication that is recommended by many universities around the world.

If you are interested in contributing to the encyclopedia, you may consult our Style Guide, which will answer many questions about text formats and so on. Writers can check the site search box on the homepage to see their chosen topic has not been covered already or they can contact our editors who will be happy to advise on which topics are of most interest to our readers or where we have particular content gaps we would like to fill. Submissions are made directly to the website via the submissions page, and they are then checked by our editorial team prior to publication.
